MANUFACTURING
Sales that agrees with the ERP
Configurable quoting, distributor visibility and aftersales support built around the system that already runs your factory.
What’s different here
In manufacturing, the CRM is not the system of record for product, price, stock or order — the ERP is. Successful designs accept that and build a strong, well-defined integration rather than trying to mirror the ERP inside Salesforce.
Selling is usually indirect. Distributors and resellers sit between you and the end customer, and channel visibility — who’s quoting what, which end customers exist, where deals are being registered — is often the largest unmet need.
Aftersales is the third piece. Installed base, warranty, spares and service history drive a large share of margin, and they’re frequently tracked in a separate system nobody has connected.
Where CRM usually breaks
- Quoting outside the system in spreadsheets, with pricing errors reaching customers.
- No installed-base record, so service and spares are reactive.
- Channel blindness — no view of distributor pipeline or end customers.
- Duplicate product data drifting from the ERP.
- Warranty claims by email, with no cycle-time visibility.
What we build
CPQ for configurable products with ERP-sourced pricing · ERP integration contract (products, price, stock, orders, invoices) · Installed-base and asset model · Warranty and returns workflow · Distributor portal with deal registration · Field service foundations · Margin and channel reporting
Common questions
Which system owns price?
The ERP, in almost every case. CPQ consumes it and applies commercial rules on top.
Can we quote configurable products?
Yes — product and validation rules encode what can and can’t be built together, including compatibility constraints.
Do we need Manufacturing Cloud?
Only when account-based forecasting and sales agreements are central. Otherwise standard plus CPQ is often better value, and we’ll say so.
