EDUCATION
One relationship, from enquiry to alumni
Recruitment, admissions, student success and alumni engagement in a model that expects people to change role, not to start again.
What’s different here
Education relationships are unusually long and role-changing: an enquirer becomes an applicant, a student, a graduate, a donor, sometimes a parent of the next applicant. A model that creates a new record at each stage loses the history that makes the relationship valuable.
The academic calendar imposes the second constraint. Everything is cyclical and immovable — clearing, enrolment, term dates — so both rollout timing and system capacity must be planned around dates that will not move.
Third, the institutional landscape is federated. Faculties, departments and services all have legitimate ownership claims, so governance and sharing design need as much attention as the build.
Where CRM usually breaks
- Separate systems per stage, so nobody sees a full history.
- Enquiry response too slow in a competitive recruitment window.
- Student success signals scattered across attendance, engagement and support systems.
- Alumni data stale, harming both giving and employability outcomes.
- Sharing rules fought over rather than designed.

Common questions
Education Cloud or a custom model?
Depends on how much of the standard model you’ll use and what your SIS already does. We assess before recommending.
Can we integrate the student information system?
Yes — with a contract defining which system owns each field, since duplication here is the usual source of pain.
Can departments have their own views without fragmenting data?
Yes: one model, differentiated sharing and reporting. That’s a design decision, not a licensing one.
