CRM MIGRATION

Move the data that matters, leave the rest behind

Profiling, cleansing, mapping, two rehearsals and a reconciliation you can show an auditor. Nothing goes live on a first attempt.

The instinct in every migration is to bring everything. It feels safe. In practice it imports a decade of duplicates, dead accounts and fields nobody remembers, and the new org inherits the old one’s credibility problem on day one.

We profile the source first and put a number on it: duplicate rate, completeness on the fields that drive decisions, and how much of the history has been touched in three years. Then we agree what migrates, what archives, and what’s deliberately dropped — as a documented decision rather than an accident.

What you get

  • A profiling report before any decision, so scope is based on evidence.
  • Explicit migrate / archive / drop decisions, signed off.
  • Deduplication with survivorship rules you approve.
  • Two full rehearsals in a sandbox, timed, before production cutover.
  • Reconciliation report proving record counts and key totals match.
  • A rollback plan that has been tested, not just written.

Common questions

Will we lose our history?

Not the history you use. We migrate active relationships and recent activity, and archive the rest in a retrievable form rather than importing it into a live org.

How long does a migration take?

Data work usually runs alongside a 8–14 week implementation. Standalone migrations of a clean source can take three to four weeks.

What about attachments and emails?

Migratable, and usually the largest volume. We size them early because they drive both storage cost and cutover duration.

How do you handle the cutover weekend?

With a timed runbook rehearsed twice, a freeze window, a named decision-maker, and a rollback point that’s been tested.
